PURPOSE

The product, developed by Jackstat Med, provides a solution to many serious issues of patients in post-operative phase after the implant of Cardiac Devices, such as risk of hematoma at the surgical pocket and onset of infections or other serious complications.

REFERENCE FRAMEWORK

Over the last years the number of pacemakers and defibrillators’ implants has progressively increased due to the population ageing and extension of the indications for the implant of such devices.

Therefore, the patients with device represent a population constantly growing that more and more frequently needs to undergo invasive or surgical procedures. Currently the number of operations in such field is the following:
60.000 implants per year in Italy,
1.500.000 implants per year in Europe,
1.700.000 implants per year in the USA

For such patients the postoperative period represents a very delicate phase and so far the market has always focused on the causes and consequences of hematoma, while the Jackstat medical system wants to be a new solution of prevention.
